Security

why do these help?

Locking the Keyboard
Prevent people from being able to type, this stops them from writting, changing and deleting your infomation, passwords and personal details

-Locking the doorTo prevent unauthourised access-locking the keyboard

- Locking the workstation down
By doing this, you can prevent theft, Because; unless they steal the whole desk your desk is secured to the desk and can't be moved.

- Shutting down the workstation :
Requires to log back in, with a password, so it's safer.

DEFINING THE DIFFERENCE

- Copying is the LAW/AGREEMENT someone breaches

-Piracy is illegal copying

- Indivdual privacy = Personal detail

- Organisation confidentiality includes data used by the company

- Always recommend:
   - Legitimate software
   - Data security to protect privacy

Ensuring Data Integrity (correct and Safe)

- Back up techniques : back ups must be regular and on schodule.

-Frequency of saving : a firewall monitor your own network amd block unauthorised access from outside your computer,if a vuris does get through virus software can remove it from your computer.

-Virus protection facility :YOU NEED FIRE WALL. BLOCKS ANY THING UNAUTHOURISED.ANTI-VIRUS SOFTWARE.

-UPS or surge protector : uninterrupted power sumply is a massive batteryURGE PROTECTER IS DESIGNED TO PROTECT ELECTRICAL DEVICES FROM VOLTAGE SPIKES.UPS= UN-INTERUPTED POWER SUPPLY. FOR SHORT TERM POWER CUTS.

THREAT FILES

1.Unauthorised Access :
  • Unauthorized Access is when a person who does not have permission to connect to or use a system gains entry in a manner unintended by the system owner. The popular term for this is “hacking
2. Internet & Email : To prevent this is to not open any attachments in email that you don't no who they are sent from worry about what sites you go on to and if they are legitimate.dont open attachments unless  threat the preson who sent them.

3. Viruses, Trojans & Spyware :
Trojan horse, or Trojan, is software that appears to perform a desirable function for the user prior to run or install, but (perhaps in addition to the expected function) steals information or harms the system. the other type of virus is one that causes harm to the system meaning you cant write your files.

4. Power Failure :  Power failure can cause the loss of unsaved work. corrupt files, ruin the machine and loses file when power is cut off.
5. Natural Disaster : Natural disasters can lead to data corruption and unauthorized access.A natural disaster can possibly be lead to a power failure, which could lead to unauthorized access to your files.

6. Data Corruption : Data corruption refers to errors in computer data that occur during transmission, retrieval, or processing, introducing unintended changes to the original data.

7. Peer to Peer Access : virues and malwave can be transmitted opening acces to your machine wirth lime -wire to anyone on the network making it easy for hacker to feed virusesand malwave to your computer.
